Thank you Meredith. I just started really working on myself in the past month. This will definitely help me to become the person I was always meant to be. By God's grace He puts in the path of people like you. I truly thank God for that.

A lot of those messages of "you can't" "you're not good enough" "No one wants you" appear during the devaluation phase. That's when they're moving in for the kill and extracting everything they can from you. They figure at this point "you can't" say no to them and "you have to" owe them and do something for them.

I've been around a while and I've been posting some very interesting things on Quora regarding the Victim-Mimic, I bet you'd still find some eye-openers. You call them messages, I call them deceptive signals. Victim-Mimics appear to have a victim mentality but they have a victim-mimic mentality.

By the way, I'm a big fan of EgopathTime and know his work real well. The parallels between you and him coming to the same conclusions on many things are no coincidence.

There is no one else who can take your place for personal improvement. This applies for every single individual be it you or the Egopath.

The most important life lesson I taught myself was when my gut feeling says no, I say no!

I'm very curious. Who are some of your guides? Favourite thinkers/writers? Not trying to be clever or 'trap' you. Genuinely interested. I HAVE been caught in the snares of both the dumbest and smartest narcissists and abusers; and my experiences were likely the fertilizer that allowed me to wake up. Who helped you wake up?

Beautiful and empowering, Meredith. This makes an excellent companion piece to my “Letter to the Menticided: A 12-Step Recovery Program” (https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/letter-to-the-menticided-a-12-step). It also goes nicely with an essay I’m working on now, so I will be adding the idea of unsubscribing from the abuser’s narrative and linking to your instructions here.
