The best time to get out is before the devil shows his horns. People often ask abuse survivors why they didn’t leave or why they didn’t see it. It’s very difficult to see when you’re in it. It’s like being in a hypnotic trance. Hindsight is 2020. Maybe that’s going to be the morbid cosmic joke some years down the road after people have seen where this global situation goes, and they ask, how could such a thing have happened?
I’m sorry to see that you’ve been drawn into qanon. You’ve helped me a great deal in the past, and to be sure there are lots of lies and exploitation going on, narcissistic abuse is rampant etc…You are, as am I, vulnerable to suggestion because of early abuse but the path is actually ambiguous, full of contradictions and grey areas. It is not a cut and dry cabal new world order as you seem to think. I hope you find your way back to messy reality. Love to you.
Great article. In looking at the current situation in Quebec, the comparaison with Nazi Germany is unavoidable. The July 8th, 1942 nazi edict is currently the law in Quebec, replacing Jewish people by non-compliant people.

This was a very good piece Meredith. I always like how you explain things so that even the dimmest could see the correlations. I’ve also always been a big believer in personal responsibility. My grandmother and mother were in WWII in Stuttgart, Germany. I remember the stories and when I lived in Germany (I did a chef’s apprenticeship) I could feel the remnants of the war especially in the younger generations ie: they wore it like guilt almost and were always trying to prove how they abhorred it, etc….and now look at where Germany is! I would have thought they would be screaming the loudest. I’m so devastated (as we all are) at the state of humanity right now but even more worried about the children and their future…my God what we done?
Intelligent comparison of the situations - Nazi Germany & now. It is a slow insidious creep forward, not an instant bomb dropped. I have been saying this to people since the beginning, & I have been castigated & lost friends/clients/acquaintances because of it.
